About

A Brief Overview about us

Who We Are

We are an independent denomination that believes in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and we transcend borders, nationalities and people as international ministry that provides Theological programs, fellowships and outreach for pastors & passionate believers of all walks of life.

Our Mission

New Heaven New Earth teaches the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation using the Bible as the only standard. We offer the study of God’s words free of cost because the wisdom we may get from God’s words cannot be exchanged with any amount this world has to offer, and it is also according to the Bible (Rv 22:17). Our mission is to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ to the whole world (and for our branch, the whole Midwest of the USA) so everyone may be one in the truth (1 Tim 2:3-4). We focus especially on the prophecy and fulfillment of His promises in the book of Revelation and the true meanings of the Parables He spoke at the First Coming and prioritize understanding the Bible clearly through explanation of the 5Ws and 1 H of each chapter.

Our Beliefs

We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe all Christians must understand the entirety of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, with an emphasis on understanding the book of Revelation to keep the new covenant, which are Jesus’ promises during the end of times.

We believe the Bible is the only book we need to understand itself and no other book is necessary.
We believe God desires all men to come to an understanding of the truth and for all nations to have their sins forgiven through the blood of Jesus.

History

New Heaven and New Earth (NHNE) is short for “New Heaven and New Earth Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of The Testimony,” which was founded in 1984, in Gwacheon, South Korea and has grown world wide. In Korean, New Heaven New Earth is pronounced as Shincheonji.

The Chicago Church began when the current head instructor was officially appointed by the Chairman on June 2, 2002, after going through a missionary period at that time for two to three years. The official center was started in May 2010, and English-speaking saints began to gather.

New Heaven and New Earth has been established according to the Word of God as written in the Bible and continues to grow by welcoming all who are hungry and thirsty for the Word and seek to come to the knowledge of the truth through understanding the Bible.

Our Emblem

The Throne Mark

This mark symbolizes that God and God’s throne. The two outer rings represent the heavens and the earth, and the square within the circle represents the kingdom of God, the Holy City New Jerusalem. The red and blue that surround the Bible in the center symbolize God, who is the Word of eternal life (Jn 1:1, Rv 4:2-3). The cross in the middle represents Jesus’ cross, which is the spring where the Way and water of life flow out from, and represents the path where God’s word comes from. The 12 gates, 3 in each cardinal direction (Rv 21:12-13), are the gates of the 12 tribes of Shincheonji.

Our Chairman

Chairman Lee speaking at one of the Shincheonji Online Seminars

Chairman Lee, Man-Hee was born on September 15, 1931, at Punggak Village, Cheongdo District, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Chairman Lee started his life of faith by praying fervently with his grandfather, who was a devout Christian. In 1946, he was among the first graduates of Punggak Public Elementary School after the Japanese left Korea. Lee did not receive any higher education due to the situation of Korea brought about by the World War 2 (1939-1945), which was immediately followed by the Korean War (1950-1953). Chairman Lee served in the South Korean Army’s 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War and, when the war ended, settled in his native village of Hyeonri-ri, PunggakMyeon, Gyeongsang Province as a farmer. Later on, Chairman Lee founded Shincheonji or SCJ (“New Heaven and New Earth”) on March 14, 1984.

“I am neither Jesus nor a founder of a religion, and I am not a pastor, but am the representative of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Man Hee Lee.

I saw and heard Jesus fulfill the New Testament (New Covenant) Revelation at Jesus’ side (Rv 22:8). Moreover, I have been sent by Jesus to preach what I have seen and heard to the churches (Rv 22:16). Yet, who would believe me or listen to what I say? Even so, I want to make known to the pastors the events of all the chapters of Revelation (from Rv 1 to Rv 22) that I have seen and heard. This work is God’s work, it is the work that Jesus promised through the new covenant, and it is the promise that we must see and believe.”
